This is Lilly. She's a Hybrid Type American Bulldog puppy at 13-weeks.

Here's Lilly under a year. She appears to be a just slightly thicker than an average Standard American Bulldog, because you can't see that she's 27" at the Withers and already weighs 85 pounds. She's half Johnson from Bella, another 25% from Judah, so 3/4 Johnson, 12.5% Old Southern White and 12.5% Standard. As always with our dogs, Lilly is a runner, robust, healthy and very thick. Lilly's back is 2" wider than her belly-brother Doc's back, and her hips 1.5" wider. If she were a male, she'd be bigger than Doc, and Doc is a pretty big boy. Lilly has an amazing sense of smell (rare for a bulldog) because of her 3.5" nose (about 1.5" longer than the Johnson fans like to see). We aim for longer nosed, Bully type dogs, so Lilly is about perfect for us, larger than a Standard American Bulldog her age, more athletic than the average Johnson; a clear breathing, long running dog with the size to deal with whatever she catches.

At three years old, just over 100 pounds, 27.5" at the whithers, 21" head, Lilly is a pretty big girl. She can run, jump and twist on a dime more like a 60 pound dog too.

Lilly is a sweet girl, never irritable, always compliant, very gentle and loving towards our kids. My daughter, Kat is Lilly's person and oh how she loves Kat!

Today Lilly is a very big, pretty girl, still 27.5" at the withers, but now weighing in at 115 pounds, same as her brother Doc. Lilly in fact is Doc's Number Two, that is, she is tandem trained and works side-by-side with Doc in his night protection duties, taking her orders from him, always backing his play.

Lilly is a very sweet and happy girl. Here Lilly sees the photographer and me coming towards her and she's glad to say hello.

Meeting the photographer for the first time Lilly is alert but amiable.

However, Lilly is a "night dog," a fully unsocialized, protection trained, alpha female who plays no games with strangers and self-initiates to physically subdue all perceived threats immediately. When the camera comes up Lilly sees it as a weapon and without that fence... well, we'd be in the market for a new photographer and be sending the lawyer a check. Lilly will take a bite out of crime for real. With her 115 pounds and enough mouth to hold a regulation sized football and splinter the cow knuckle bones we give her to chew, there's no bone or joint on a grown man's body that Lilly can't shatter in a single bite - and she's every bit as fast as Doc.
